Writer’s Digest has a new self-publishing division called Abbott Press. To promote this, they are having a contest where by March 27, 2011, you have to twitter a pitch for your book. You can find more details at http://www.abbottpress.com/TwitterContest.aspx.

I already know that I’m going to twitter about Legend. It should be a piece of cake, right? Well, not exactly. The story is there, but I am stuck on the full-length summary, let alone a 140 character one! The beginning and end of the book do what they need to do and fit the plot line that I have in my head, but the middle goes slightly off tangent. What I mean is that it has great story material, but I’m not sure the relationships between the characters are fitting in with the plot as much as they should be. Therefore, a summary is hard because I have way too  many things happening, or in some cases, not happening enough. If I really want to, I think I could make two books out of that middle section. To add to my conundrum, there are even a couple of chapters near the middle end that I’m not sure I want to keep.

Good thing I have 13 days to think about this.
