About J.D.

jdbrinkIf taking a college fencing class, eating from the trash can, and smelling like an animal were qualifications for becoming a sword-swinging barbarian, J. D. Brink might be Conan’s protégé.  But since that career path seemed less than promising, he has instead been a sailor, spy, nurse, and officer in the U.S. Navy, as well as a gravedigger, insurance adjuster, and school teacher in civilian life.  Today (spring, 2016) he and his family are stationed in Japan, where he’s providing a bad example for all Americans.  In his writing, as in life, Mr. Brink enjoys dabbling in multiple genres.

About Invasion

The future of the Identity Crisis Universe hangs in the balance.

invasionA swarm of biomechanical monsters attack the Volans Space Station. Fortunately, two of the station’s engineers are more than just astronauts…

Earth’s Apex superheroes are all that stand between an alien beachhead and the innocent lives below. Adam Smasher, Symian, and Ballista must fight off an insectoid invasion with one foot in the airlock and the other kicking inorganic butt back into space.

But repelling the first wave won’t be enough. To safeguard the Earth, these heroes must leave their world behind and venture into deep space, where the void—and the mission—may be darker and colder than they ever imagined.

Fifteen years after the events of Hungry Gods, the superhero lineup is very different. J. D. Brink’s mature brand of spandex adventure comes to a new series for grownup fanboys and fangirls of every timeline.
