block-party-badge1Welcome to my RRBC Back-To-School Book & Blog Block Party spot.

I’m doing something a little different. Instead of talking about my writing endeavors and experience, I decide to pay it forward and introduce you to another author.  Her name is Julie Nicholls. I met Julie on Facebook. She’s an extremely talented visual artist who also happens to be a wordsmith. I wanted to say thanks for the amazing and wonderful job she did on Legend’s cover and felt this was the only way.

So without further adieu, let’s meet her writing side.  I’ll do a more in-depth piece on her visual talents later.

Who is Julie?

JulieJulie Nicholls was born in Hull, East Yorkshire, England. Her love of writing didn’t fully develop until she moved to Bulgaria after retiring from work at the age of 42. Living in a small village in the South of Bulgaria with her husband and two dogs, Julie enjoys country-life and the freedom retirement brings. She’s the owner of Literally Sensual on WordPress, along with other writing friends, but is more known for writing fan fiction and receives regular reviews.

The release of her first novel, Demon Within, encouraged her to continue writing a sequel. The second book in the Fallen Angels series, Angel Within, was released in March 2015. The final book, Ascension Within, is due for release in Autumn 2015.

In Her Own Words

Thank you for the opportunity to chat with you on your blog, Ani and “Hi” to your readers.  I’m English and currently live in “sunny” Bulgaria. Ha, I call it that because there’s barely any sunshine in ol’ Blighty and I do like a bit of the yellow stuff. I live with the love of my life, Ian, and our two dogs, Kira and MIshka. We live in a small village in southern Bulgarian, and love it!

I started writing five years ago with a few fanfic stories about Stargate Atlantis, and then as my work became more popular, I thought it might be time to write a novel. I attempted that twice, before finally getting Demon Within to Amazon in November 2014.

Demon Within is the first book in a series of three, and I will be releasing the third in October 2015, having released the 2nd, Angel Within already in March 2015. I’ve just also had Demon Within put on audio, and it’s narrated by the fabulously talented actor, Scott Richard Ehredt, and is available on Audible, iTunes and Amazon.

As you’ve probably seen from Ani’s previous post regarding her cover, I am now officially her cover designer. *SQUEEEE*  I love to paint digital art, and also enjoy manipulating and making banners, covers and promo’s. I am very reasonably priced, so if you’re an indie author looking for a good deal, you should come and talk to me.

Make it a great, Sunday, guys!

    • horsecents says:

Well, this is a “dry” bar because I only drink on occasion. I’m simply amazed, floored, and honored by the responses today. I’m so glad I stumbled upon the club a few months back.

  4. CassidySalem says:

Always enjoy reading about the endeavors of other authors – great that you find time to turn the spotlight on the accomplishments of others.

  5. Very generous to give your space to introduce us to another author. Thanks. Your back story is quite incredible. I also will take some of the advice you shared in your “How to” tab.

    • horsecents says:

Richie, you are welcome. I’m hoping to expand the “How to” in the next few months after I do a few other things. Right now, my focus is the Meet the Author posts because I enjoy sharing other authors with the world.

  6. Sounds like Julie would be an excellent member of RRBC.

  7. Linda Mims says:

So kind of you to “pay-it-forward” by presenting Julie’s work! Have a great day touring!

  8. How kind of you to pay it forward! I love fallen angels 😉 so I will definitely be checking out her novels. I will also be checking out your books because anyone who pays it forward deserves that kind of love to bounce back their way. 😘

  9. Thanks for introducing us to Julie!

  10. jinlobify says:

Hello you, have you invited Julie to join our awesome book club? If not, hurry and do so. Sorry for not giving you a name. You didn’t tell us, so I don’t know whether you are someone I already know. However, have a wonderful party, and a happy day. 🙂

    • horsecents says:

Jim, thanks and no worries. When I first started this blog, it was just a way to keep me writing while I figured out what I was doing with my writing. Now that the mission has changed to be more promotional and insightful, I probably need to add my name. It’s Ani, BTW.

  11. Wow! what a wealth of useful information you have on this site. Hope you have a great day.

  12. Gwen Plano says:

Wow Julie, you are multitalented! I love your artwork and I’ve got Demon Within on my short list. Have fun at the “Party”….and blessings on your day.

  13. Gwen Plano says:

Wonderful, Julie. You are quite talented….I love your artwork. The Demon Within is on my shortlist….so know I’m eagerly following you. Have a great “Party” today!

  14. Hey, Ani — and fellow Armenian! Great site and congratulations on your novel series! Very happy for you – and impressed by your choice to focus on another writer on your special blog party day. Wishing you the best in life and health and writing! (And my older daughter’s name is Ani too)! Cheers.

    • horsecents says:

Thank you, Lisa. It’s always a pleasure to meet another Armenian. I’ve only met one other Ani and that was during a customer service call when I was in a call center for an electronics store.

If you don’t mind me asking, does your daughter have the same problem that I do of people thinking that the name is short for something or a misspelled version of Annie?

  15. And Julie – congratulations on your fine work as well! Happy to learn about you here. Cheers.

  16. Liz Scott says:

Great to read your bio Julie!

  17. What an incredible way to help Julie and US out by promoting her work and services today! Very thoughtful 🙂 Hope you have an awesome blog block party today!!

  18. Also, I just followed your blog. Great site!

  19. Michelle Abbott says:

Nice post, Ani. It was a nice gesture to profile your cover designer, she did a great job!

    • horsecents says:

Michelle, yes she did. I still get goosebumps every time I look at it. The amazing thing about it is that it took her maybe a day to do it between the various PM conversations on FB.

  20. Shirley Harris-Slaughter says:

Ani, this is a lovely post for Julie! What a small world we live in … I spent a lot of my formative years in Hull.–the new centre of the universe, LOL! … Just like your blog background, may you and Julie reach the stars! 🙂

  28. beemweeks says:

You’re amazing, Ani. What a wonderful and selfless idea to promote another on your blog day. I salute you for your kindness. Best wishes to you and to Julie.

  29. Great post Ani. It’s lovely to learn about how creative both you and Julie are. I wish her great success in her new book cover design venture.

I’m glad to hear you are well and writing such wonderful work. My best friend also had water on the brain and it has affected her career and daily life. She is amazing and one of the best people I know, so it’s really good to meet someone else overcoming similar obstacles and succeeding in everything they do.

    Enjoy the party:)

    • horsecents says:

Thank you for your kind words, Lizzie. I don’t think about it much these days unless I get a massive headache. Though I consider myself very blessed considering the alternatives.

  30. Rhani D'Chae says:

What an interesting post, & great to learn a little bit about Julie. ☺

  31. clynsg says:

This is an excellent example of the principle of ‘pay it forward’. Congratulations to both of you, for work well done, and as an example to others.

  32. Hi RTW – (Sorry if I missed your name on the way in) – Great RRBC party you have going here – and thanks very much for posting such an engaging profile of Juile!
Your blog site seems quite nice – well organized and purposeful – do you have any works of your own published?

Hope you are having a great day and thank you for hosting us all from the Blog Back to School Party crowd – Best regards, ML

    • horsecents says:

Micheal, thanks for stopping by. Look at the sidebar, please. Spirit has been out for a few months now could always use a few more readers and reviewers. Legend, the next book, is coming out some time in 2016.

  33. jenwintersne says:

Reblogged this on Jen Winters is an Indie Author and commented:
    Julie is FANTASTIC!!

  34. horsecents says:

For the first time visitors here, I’m one of those who has to approve everything. Being in the IT industry for as long as I have, I hate SPAM. Your comments will show up, it just might take me a few minutes.

  35. No canned ham like products here (that is a SPAM reference to those too young to know what the stuff is). Nice BLOG. I like the layout, background and all the info, especially your quotes page. Count me “following”

  36. Christa Nardi says:

Thanks for introducing us to Julie and her books! Very nice of you!

  37. Hi Ani,

  38. Jan Hawke says:

Hi there, Ani! 😀 I really enjoyed looking around your beautiful blog and what a great idea to profile Julie like this – her love of horses really does show in your book’s cover 🙂 I also went and had a poke around Julie’s galleries too – beautiful work!.
Best wishes to you both for the future – your creativity deserves all the recognition it gets! 😀

    • horsecents says:

Thanks for stopping by, Jan. Julie became my series designer after her awesome job on Legend’s cover. I take full responsibility for Spirit’s. 🙂 And yes, it’s a reflection of my love of horses. Several horses have given me that same look.

  39. kimwrtr says:

Thank you, Ani and Julie for a great post. I visited Julie’s different pages and her art is gorgeous. Great job to both of you.

  42. S M Spencer says:

How nice of you Ani, to introduce us to Julie – nice post from a real talent. 😊😊

  43. Gwen Plano says:

    Hi Ani,
I’ve finally had a moment to read through your entire website and “get to know you”……and I’m so touched by the person I found. It doesn’t surprise me that you focused today’s blog on Julie, because your generosity of spirit is amazing. I needed to “meet” you today….because it has been a rough one and you showed me the way. Thank you for being the talented, generous, beautiful person that you are. Blessings….abundant…. (and BTW, I just purchased your book). 🙂

    • horsecents says:

Gwen, thank you for honoring me with your words. When I first started writing all I wanted to do was a simple horse story and maybe, if I was lucky, make a difference in someone’s life with my writing. To hear that I have, well, means a lot more than I can express. And thank you for buying the book.

  44. How thoughtful of you to introduce us to Julie and her books. Now following your blog. Have a great day! 🙂

  45. Brian O'Hare says:

Hi Julie, fascinating blog. Writer, artist and site designer?? Is there no end to your talents? I can write a bit…maybe. I can’t draw and my computer skills are nil. Am I allowed to admit that I am green with envy?

    • hey Brian, I love to create and it is my passion. I am useless at mathematics and a few other things, everyone has something they are good at, as I’m sure you have skills♥ Thank you so much for taking the time to read the post and I hope to connect with you on social media.

  46. PHS says:

Nice profile of a fellow author! Hope you’ve enjoyed all the attention hosting the block party today.

  47. Thanks for introducing us to Julie!

  48. Joe Stephens says:

It’s quite nice of you to spend your time in the spotlight shining it on someone else!

  49. I’m sorry I didn’t have a chance to make it here on the day of, but this was a fantastic post, and a great introduction to Julie! Thank you!

  50. horsecents says:
