My titles reflect not only my story, but who I am and what the story means to me. Making money would be nice, but I’m not going to sacrifice the integrity of my words for a buck. I write and say what I mean. Packaging myself, or my works up, in some smelly perfume just to appeal to the masses isn’t who I am.
Someone asked me this question over New Year’s dinner, questioning the motivation for doing something that wasn’t selling, or making any money. I gave them the simple answers of needing at least two books to start the name-building process and wanting to finish what I started. Here’s the more complicated ones.
The box in the top right corner of the SOH website is a motivator. I’m already thinking about how fast I can get the grammar check on Legend done. Not only that I can’t wait to see the next book in the series, A Dream To Share, underneath Legend as I wait for feedback. I was even thinking further than that to the books I wanted to do before tackling the In the Name of Freedom trilogy. That led to a few complications and me rethinking my plan.
