An in-depth review of Legend

Legend’s first and so far only review comes from the person who helped it mature as a beta reader. Does this invalidate the review in any way? No, because I didn’t compensate her for her help or the review in any way. And she didn’t see the final copy until it was published.

My Titles Come From My Heart

My titles reflect not only my story, but who I am and what the story means to me. Making money would be nice, but I’m not going to sacrifice the integrity of my words for a buck. I write and say what I mean. Packaging myself, or my works up, in some smelly perfume just to appeal to the masses isn’t who I am.

Horses as people in stories

Characters must be believable or they sour the story. Hardcore expectations come into play when it’s a human or animal, If something is going to be changed about them, it needs to be done carefully or the character going to appear fake or corny. I draw on my experience with horses to make these changes.

Changing my methodology slightly

It’s a very dynamic time for A Dream To Share. This has led to change in how the book’s progress is going to be measured. Instead of relying on an arbitrary percentage, I’m going to be using its word count with a fexible goal of 75,000 words.

Time slipping away

Chapter 30 is in the books… Yay!

Taking a moment to stop, breathe, and applaud myself. Granted I still have twenty-one more chapters left in the grammar check, but I told myself that once I reached chapter thirty I would celebrate. The milestone means I have less than more to do.

Learning more about Jo

During them, I learned about her history of undercover operations. I still don’t know the details of every one, but I now at least know how and why Jo does things, both as herself and other people. It also triggers the need for me to write a twenty-sixth book in the core series.

Where am I going with the series?

The box in the top right corner of the SOH website is a motivator. I’m already thinking about how fast I can get the grammar check on Legend done. Not only that I can’t wait to see the next book in the series, A Dream To Share, underneath Legend as I wait for feedback. I was even thinking further than that to the books I wanted to do before tackling the In the Name of Freedom trilogy. That led to a few complications and me rethinking my plan.
